FOODS
THAT NATURE MADE!

This webpage shares valuable
information about various foods that are truly natural (including fruits,
vegetables, edible seeds, and animal foods).
This information is intended to help people develop an appreciation for
how valuable it is to eat a variety of natural foods in one's daily meals. You can also use this listing to learn about
various types of natural foods that you have never eaten before, and you might
possibly like to try sometime...if you feel adventuresome!!!
Various Types of
Fruits!
Let's start with a listing of
various types of fruits. Many people
confuse "fruits" and "vegetables". When a flower on a plant is pollinated, the
petals eventually fall off, and the female part of the flower that remains on
the plant gets bigger and bigger (for weeks or sometimes years)...and this is
what we call a fruit. So, generally
speaking, fruits grow on plants where the flowers used to be. Therefore, certain foods that people often
call vegetables (like cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, squash, and tomatoes) are
actually fruits.
FRUITS
Apples - There are over 1,000
different types of apples. Apples and
apple juice contain malic acid, which dissolves certain types of gall stones.
Apricots - These fruits are high in
beta-carotene, gamma-carotene, and cryptoxanthin, which are nutrients that the
body can convert into vitamin A.
Avocados - These fruits are very high
in vitamin B-6 (also called pyridoxine), and potassium. They are also wonderfully high in healthy,
nutritious oils.
Bananas - These fruits are very high
in vitamin B-6 (also called pyridoxine), and potassium. Raw bananas contain both starch digesting
enzymes and sugar digesting enzymes (including maltase and sucrase).
Cantaloupe - This is a type of
muskmelon that is very high in potassium and beta-carotene, which is a nutrient
that the body converts into vitamin A.
Cantaloupe is also high in vitamin C.
Casaba - This is a type of melon
that is very high in potassium.
Cherries - These fruits are high in
potassium, and beta-zeacarotene, which is a nutrient that the body can convert
into vitamin A. Acerola cherries in
particular are extremely high in vitamin C.
Eating a meal of cherries or drinking a large glass of cherry juice can
have a laxative effect, which will relieve constipation.
Citrus Fruits - Citrus
fruits include grapefruits, kumquats, lemons, limes, oranges, pummelos (also
spelled pomelos), tangerines, as well as different types of hybrids
(cross-breedings) between them, like tangelos and ugli fruits. Citrus fruits are very high in vitamin C and
potassium. They are also very high in a
nutrient known as citrus bioflavoniods, which enhance the body's ability to
absorb and use vitamin C. There is an
especially high concentration of citrus bioflavonoids in the white part of the
citrus fruits, which is located just under the outer skin or peel. Even though citrus fruits are highly acidic,
eating citrus fruits or drinking citrus juice tends to make the pH of the body
more alkaline. For example, lemons and
limes are some of the most acidic fruits on Earth, but eating them or drinking
their juices will quickly make the body more alkaline than most (if not all)
known fruits on Earth. Some oranges
grown in the United States’ state of Florida are dyed with a synthetic food
coloring named "citrus red 2".
I suggest not eating these oranges, and not using these orange rinds in
recipes. Citrus red 2 is used to make
the oranges look more orange-colored, so people are more likely to buy them.
Cranberries - These berries tend to
increase the acidity of the pH in the kidneys and bladder. As a result, cranberries and cranberry juice
tends to kill urinary tract infections, as well as dissolve some types of
kidney stones.
Crenshaw Melon - See
"Casaba" listing.
Cucumbers - Cucumbers contains a
protein-digesting enzyme, named erepsis.
Cucumber skin is toxic, so I suggest removing it, before eating the rest
of the fruit.
Currants - These berries are natural
antibiotics. They have been found to
discourage the growth of yeast (Candida albicans) in the body. Currents come in black, red, and white
varieties. Black currents in particular
have high amounts of the Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acid, known as GLA (Gamma
Linolenic Acid), in both the fruit and the seeds.
Dates - These are the fruits of
Date Palm trees. Dates are high in
potassium.
Eggplant - These are very low in
calories.
Elderberries - These berries are very
high in vitamin C.
Figs - These fruits are very high
in calcium and fiber.
Grapefruits - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Guavas - These fruits are very high
in vitamin C.
Honeydew - This is a type of melon
that is very high in potassium and high in vitamin C.
Kiwifruit - This fruit is very high in
potassium and vitamin C. Kiwifruit also
contains a type of protein digesting enzyme.
Kumquats - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Lemons - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Limes - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Oranges - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Olives - Olives are very high in
calcium.
Papayas - This fruit is high in
vitamin C, and cryptoxanthin, which is a nutrient that the body can convert
into vitamin A. Raw papaya contains a
variety of types of digestive enzymes, known together as papain. Raw papaya can be eaten with a meal, to help
the meal be digested more effectively.
The digestive enzymes in raw papaya can also help the body to replenish
its supply of digestive enzymes. Papain
contains a powerful protein-digesting enzyme, which is similar to the digestive
enzyme pepsin (which is produced in the stomach). So people can have some raw papaya fruit with a meal to improve
digestion.
Papain will kill various types of parasitic worms in the
intestinal tract (like roundworms and hookworms). To do this, eat a bowl of raw papaya as a morning meal and an
evening every day for two months.
Papain in raw papaya is also excellent at digesting poisonous venoms
from bees, wasps, snakes, and jellyfish.
If stung, chew up some raw papaya and put it on the area of the
wound. In addition, eat as much raw
papaya as you can as soon as possible after the bite or sting has
occurred. The papain digests the venom
into smaller molecules (that are not as toxic to the body).
Papaya is also great at speeding up the healing of damaged
protein tissue in the body. For
example, if someone injures a muscle or tendon, the person can put some raw
papaya juice on the injured area and eat a large amount of raw papaya for a few
days, and this will probably speed up the healing a lot, because the papain
will quickly digest away any damaged proteins.
When the damaged proteins are digested, then the body can rebuild new
healthier proteins where the damaged ones used to be.
For women who are interested in breast feeding their babies, but
they are having a hard time producing enough milk, papaya is said to increase
the production of mother's milk.
Peaches – Peaches are high in
alpha-carotene, which is a nutrient that the body can convert into vitamin
A. Peaches are also very high in
potassium.
Peppers - There are two general
classifications of peppers, sweet peppers and hot peppers. Both types are high in vitamin C and various
nutrients that the body can convert into vitamin A (such as alpha-carotene,
beta-carotene, and cryptoxanthin).
Persimmons - These fruits are very high
in vitamin C, and cryptoxanthin, which is a nutrient that the body can convert
into vitamin A. Eating raw persimmons
will kill hookworms in the intestinal tract.
Pineapples - Raw pineapple contains a
variety of digesting enzymes, known together as bromelain. The protein-digesting enzyme in bromelain is
similar to the protein-digesting enzyme found in papain (the digestive enzymes
found in the raw papaya fruit. The
protein-digesting enzyme in raw pineapple can be used the same way the
protein-digesting enzyme in raw papaya is used. See the listing for “Papaya” (listed above) for more information.
Pomegranates - The seeds of this fruit
kill tapeworms in the intestinal tract.
Plums - Both raw plums and prunes
(which are dried prune plums) are excellent laxatives.
Pomelos - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Pummelos - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Rose Hips - These are the fruits of
the rose bush. They are very high in
vitamin C.
Strawberries - These berries are well
known for containing very high amounts of vitamin C.
Tangelos - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Tangerines - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Tomatoes - This fruit is high in
gamma-carotene and beta-zeacarotene, which are two nutrients that the body can
convert into vitamin A. Tomatoes are
also very high in potassium.
Ugli Fruit - See "Citrus
Fruits" listing.
Watermelons - This melon is very high in
potassium. It is also high in vitamin
C. Watermelons also contain nutrients
that the body can convert into vitamin A (such as alpha-carotene and
gamma-carotene).
Various Types of
Vegetables!
"Vegetables" would
include any part of the plant other than the fruit or seeds. Here's a listing of various types of
vegetables, and what makes each of them special.
VEGETABLES
Alfalfa - This vegetable is a type of
clover. Alfalfa is very high in
calcium, iron, magnesium, and protein.
Many health food stores and natural food stores sell it in pill form.
Algae - Blue-green algae (such as
spirulina) and green algae (such as chlorella) are some of the healthiest foods
on Earth, because they have such high amounts of a wide variety of
nutrients. Both Spirulina and chlorella
are complete proteins. They are also
are very high in chlorophyll and vitamin B-12, making them especially valuable
foods for vegetarians! Blue-green and
green algae are usually sold at health food stores and natural food stores, as
powders and as pills.
Artichokes - See "Globe
Artichoke" and "Jerusalem Artichoke" listings.
Asparagus - This vegetable is very high
in the vitamin, folic acid.
Beans - See “Beans” listing under "Edible Seeds" category
(listed below).
Beet Leaves - These are also called "beet greens". They are a wonderful source of protein. They can be eaten raw, steamed, or boiled.
Beet Roots - Raw beets are wonderful at
improving the health of the liver and gallbladder. Raw or cooked beets are a wonderful source of the mineral, iron.
Broccoli - This vegetable is very high
in vitamin C, vitamin K, and calcium.
Raw broccoli contains the antioxidant enzyme known as Superoxide
Dismutase (SOD). Broccoli also contains
chemicals called indoles, which detoxify the body of various toxins.
Brussels Sprouts - This
vegetable is very high in vitamin C.
Raw Brussels sprouts contain the antioxidant enzyme known as Superoxide
Dismutase (SOD). It also contains
chemicals called indoles, which detoxify the body of various toxins.
Cabbage – Cabbage leaves are very high
in vitamin C. Raw cabbage leaves
contain starch-digesting enzymes, and the antioxidant enzyme known as
Superoxide Dismutase (SOD). Large
amounts of helpful bacteria tend to live on raw cabbage leaves as well. Raw cabbage leaves and raw cabbage leaf
juice have been found to be very effective at healing stomach and intestinal
ulcers.
Carrots – Carrot roots are high in
alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, and gamma-carotene, which are nutrients that the
body can convert into vitamin A. Since
carrots contain a lot of the starch known as cellulose, eating just one raw or
cooked carrot a day can help to relieve constipation.
Cauliflower - This vegetable is very high
in vitamin C, and the vitamin named choline.
Celery - This vegetable is very high
in potassium and organic sodium. Celery
is also has a lot of the starch known as cellulose, which helps relieve
constipation. Fresh celery has a very
small amount of toxins in it, called furocoumarins. The longer celery is stored, the more of these toxins form in the
celery, so it is suggested that celery be eaten within three weeks of
harvesting or buying it.
Chicory - This vegetable, refers to
chicory roots (which are often used as a coffee substitute), as well as chicory
leaves. Curly-leaf chicory is known as
"endive", and broad-leaf chicory is known as
"escarole". Chicory leaves
(endive and escarole) are very high in vitamin A, calcium, and potassium.
Chives - See "Onions"
listing.
Chlorella - See "Algae"
listing.
Collards - The leaves of this vegetable
are also called “collard greens”.
Collard leaves are very high in calcium, vitamin C, and beta-carotene, a
nutrient that the body converts into vitamin A.
Cucumbers - See listing under
"Fruits" category (listed above).
Daikon Radish - See “Radishes” listing.
Eggplant - See listing under
"Fruits" category (listed above).
Endive - See "Chicory"
listing.
Escarole - See "Chicory"
listing.
Garlic - Garlic bulbs are a very
effective natural antibiotic. They help
discourage the growth of certain types of harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi
(such as Candida albicans), protozoa (such as Giardia intestinalis
[also called Giardia lamblia]), and parasitic worms (such as hookworms,
pinworms, roundworms, and tapeworms).
Globe Artichoke - This
immature flower head is not to be confused with the “Jerusalem Artichoke"
(which is a root of a plant that is related to the sunflower plant). The globe artichoke has been found to help
improve the health of the liver. The
leaves of this vegetable are to be eaten, but the middle part of the flower is
inedible.
Green Beans - See “Beans” listing under
"Edible Seeds" category (listed below).
Jerusalem Artichoke - This root
vegetable is not to be confused with the green immature flower, known as the
"Gloge Artchoke". Jerusalem
artichokes are low in digestible sugars (so many people who are diabetic can
safely eat them). Also, Jerusalem
artichokes contain FOS (fructooligosaccharides), which is a favorite food of
the helpful bacteria that live in people's intestinal tracts.
Kale - This vegetable is very high
in calcium, vitamin C, vitamin K, the vitamin named folic acid, and
beta-carotene, a nutrient that the body can convert into vitamin A.
Lettuce - All types lettuce are fine
except iceberg lettuce and oakleaf lettuce, since they both contain an opiate
(similar to opium), which is toxic when present in the human digestive
system. The opiate is called
lactucarium, and it causes constipation by partially paralyzing the intestinal
tract, which stops the movement of food through the intestines.
Mushrooms -These are types of fungi that
are generally high in phosphorus and zinc.
While many mushrooms are healthy to eat, some are dangerous, and some
are even deadly. If you choose to
harvest mushrooms from the wild, it's important to only eat wild mushrooms that
you know are safe.
Mustard Leaves - These are also called
"mustard greens". They are
high in vitamin C, and beta-carotene, which is a nutrient that the body can
convert into vitamin A.
Olives - See listing under "Fruits"
category (listed above).
Okra - This vegetable is very high
in the vitamin, known as folic acid.
Onions - Onions have been found to be
a natural antibiotic, helping to discourage the growth of various harmful
bacteria (including Escherichia coli (commonly called “E. coli”), and
Salmonella).
Parsley – Parsley leaves are high in
protein, chlorophyll, calcium, vitamin C, and beta-carotene, a nutrient that
the body can convert into vitamin A.
Parsley leaves will also help the body purify the blood of various
toxins.
Parsnips - These roots are similar to
carrots, but they are white. Parsnips don’t
contain the alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, and gamma-carotene, that carrots
have.
Peas - See “Beans” listing under
"Edible Seeds" category (listed below).
Peppers - See listing under
"Fruits" category (listed above).
Potatoes - Potatoes are high in a
nutrient known as GABA, which the body makes to help people to relax. Drinking raw red potato juice will help to
heal stomach ulcers. (For more information
on how to use raw red potato juice to heal stomach ulcers, see the entry for
"Ulcers" in the "STEP THREE" section of the "How to
Stay Healthy With Nutrition!" webpage, which is located on this
www.AbundantHealth.ws website.) Raw
potatoes also contain the sugar-digesting enzyme, invertase. Potatoes are very high in vitamin C. One type of vitamin C they contain is called
“copper ascorbate”, a rare and valuable form of this vitamin. Potatoes are also high in Potassium. Raw potatoes contain the enzyme tyrosinase
(also called “polyphenol oxidase”), which is an enzyme that combines the amino
acid tyrosine with oxygen, to produce the skin pigment, melanin. People’s bodies create melanin in skin to
help protect our skin from getting sunburned from too much sunlight. As a matter of fact, it is because of the
tyrosinase in potatoes that makes it so raw potatoes turn brown in areas that
are cut or bruised and exposed to the air (which contains oxygen). But cooked potatoes don’t turn brown when
cut or bruised, because the heat that was used to cook the potatoes had
previously destroyed the tyrosinase enzymes.
Keep in mind that potatoes are not the same as "sweet
potatoes" and "yams".
See the entries for each of these other vegetables for information about
them.
Radishes - Raw daikon radishes contain
starch-digesting enzymes. Daikon
radishes can be added to raw vegetable salads and served with high starch meals
(like potatoes, grains, or pastas) to encourage the starchy meals to be
thoroughly digested.
Scallions - See "Onions"
listing.
Sea Vegetables - (including Agar Agar,
Alaria, Arame, Dulse, Hijiki, Kelp, Kombu, Kuzu, Nori, Sea Palm, Wakame, and
Wild Nori) - Sea vegetables tend to contain some of every mineral that people
require to be healthy. Kelp and dulse
are very high in calcium and magnesium.
Spinach – Spinach leaves are high in
vitamin C, vitamin K, the vitamin named folic acid, iron, chlorophyll, fiber,
and beta-carotene, a nutrient that the body can convert into vitamin A. Spinach leaves also contains a lot of
calcium, but it is a form of calcium that the body can’t use very well, so
spinach is not a good source of calcium.
Spirulina - See "Algae"
listing.
Swiss chard - These stalks and leaves are
very high in iron, calcium, potassium, and organic sodium.
Sweet Potatoes - These vegetables are high in
beta-carotene and gamma-carotene, which are nutrients that the body can convert
into vitamin A. Sometimes sweet
potatoes are called yams. This presents
confusion as to what a person is eating, or buying at a store, because sweet
potatoes and yams actually come from two different types of plants. For information on yams, see the “Yams”
listing below.
Tomatoes - See listing under
"Fruits" category (listed above).
Turnip Greens – Turnip greens (which are
turnip leaves) are very high in vitamin C, vitamin K, and calcium.
Watercress - This vegetable is very high
in calcium and vitamin C.
Wax Beans - See “Beans” listing under
"Edible Seeds" category (listed below).
Wheat Grass - This is an incredibly
healthy vegetable, because it has such high amounts of a wide variety of
nutrients! Wheat grass contains S.O.D.
(superoxide dismutase), which is an enzyme that protects the body from many
toxins, known as free radicals. Wheat
grass juice is sometimes sold at health food stores, natural food supermarkets,
and natural food restaurants. People
who are allergic to wheat (seeds) are usually not allergic to wheat grass.
Yams – There are more than 150
different types of yams. They can be
pink, purple, white, or yellow. They
tend to contain a large amount of sugar.
Yams are not the same as sweet potatoes, even though a lot of people
call sweet potatoes, yams. For
information on sweet potatoes, see the “Sweet Potatoes” listing above.
Various Types of
Edible Seeds!
Here's a listing of various
types of edible seeds (such as beans, grains, nuts, and others), and what makes
each of them so unique.
Many seeds can be ground up into flour. Some seeds (such as grains) can be boiled or simmered for 30 to 60
minutes (depending on the type of seed), and then eaten. Many seeds can be soaked in water overnight,
and then eaten raw the next day. One of
the healthiest ways to eat grains (and many other types of seeds) is to sprout
them. Seeds are sprouted by soaking
them in water for however many days it takes to see roots and leaves growing
out of them. This may take between one
and seven days. When sprouting seeds,
it's important to change the water a few times each day (to help keep the water
free of any undesirable bacteria, protozoa, or mildew). It’s also important to keep the seeds being
sprouted in a dark place away from any light, in order to discourage the growth
of undesirable mildew. Edible seeds are
amazingly high in protein, enzymes, helpful fats and oils, and various other
valuable nutrients! Here's a listing of
various types of edible seeds.
EDIBLE SEEDS
Almonds - This type of nut is an
excellent source of complete protein, and it is one of the easiest nuts for
people to digest. Almonds are very high
in vitamin B-2 (also called riboflavin), calcium, phosphorus, magnesium,
protein, and healthy oils. Almonds are
best if eaten raw, or made into "almond milk" by putting water and
raw almonds in a blender, to make a healthy drink.
Amaranth - Although this is not
really a grain, it is generally referred to as an ancient grain. Amaranth is an excellent source of complete
protein. It was one of the main sources
of food for the ancient Mayans and Aztecs.
Amaranth is especially easy to make into sprouts, because it sprouts in
only one day (when soaked in water), so it's a wonderfully quick source of
fresh, healthy sprouts.
Barley - This is a healthy type of
grain that is very high in the vitamin known as biotin, and protein. When the outer hull is removed, it is
referred to as "pearled barley".
Pearled barley has much fewer nutrients than whole grain barley, so I
suggest having whole grain barley whenever possible. Whole grain barley takes a little longer time to cook than most
other grains. I usually boil it in
water for one hour. Raw barley sprouts
contain a starch-digesting enzyme that converts starch into the sugar maltose.
Beans - (Kidney, Lima, Fava,
Pinto, Black, Black-eyed Peas, Garbonzo, Navy, etc.) Beans are very high in
vitamin B-1, the vitamin known as folic acid, and the mineral sulfur. Beans also have a lot of protein. Beans are especially healthy when they are
sprouted.
Black Currant Seeds – The oil
made from these seeds has some Omega 3 essential fatty acids, and is very high
in Omega 6 essential fatty acids.
Brazil Nuts - These nuts are a complete
protein. Brazil nuts are also very high
in calcium, magnesium, the mineral selenium, vitamin B-1, and healthy oils.
Buckwheat - This seed is very high in
calcium, magnesium, and protein.
Despite its name, it is neither a type of wheat, nor a type of grain,
but rather a seed from a type of flower.
Buckwheat flour is often used to make healthy pancakes, and other forms
of bread.
Bulgur Wheat - This is a healthy type of
grain that is high in folic acid and protein.
Butternut - This nut is very high in
protein and healthy oils. Butternuts
will also kill tapeworms.
Canola - This seed is also called
“Rapeseed”. Canola oil is very high in
Omega 3 essential fatty acids.
Carob - Carob pods contain the
seeds from the carob tree. Carob pods
are high in calcium and organic sodium.
Carob is often dried and used as a chocolate substitute, since it tastes
similar to chocolate (cocoa), but it has less caffeine. Dried carob powder is sold at many health
food stores and natural food supermarkets.
Carob powder is often used to make a carob version of hot chocolate.
Cashews - These nuts are a complete
protein. They are also very high in
potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, and healthy oils. Raw cashews contain a toxin, which is destroyed by high
heat. And so, I recommend that people
boil raw cashews before eating them.
Chestnuts - These are very high in
potassium and protein.
Chickpeas - See the listing for
"Garbonzo Beans"
Coconuts - These nuts are the seeds
of the coconut palm tree. They are very
high in saturated fat.
Corn - There are many different
types of corn. The healthiest types are
the ancient varieties. This would
include blue corn, red corn, and the varieties of yellow and white corn that
are not hybrids ("man-made").
Many people are allergic to the hybrid varieties of corn. Raw corn contains starch-digesting
enzymes. Corn is very high in Omega 6
essential fatty acids.
Cotton Seeds – These seeds are very high
in Omega 6 essential fatty acids.
Cotton plants are often sprayed with lots of pesticides, so cotton seed
meal and oil might contain high amounts of pesticides as well.
Durham Wheat - This grain contains only
one forth the carbohydrates (sugars and starches) as most other types of
wheat. Durham wheat flour is often
called “semolina”.
Filberts - See the listing for
"Hazelnuts".
Flax Seeds - Flax seeds are known for
containing a very large amount of Omega 3 essential fatty acids. When flax seeds are soaked overnight, they
become somewhat gelatiny. Some people
find that undesirable. I prefer boiling
them (for one hour).
Garbonzo Beans - These
are also called chickpeas. They are an
excellent source of complete protein.
Grape Seeds – These seeds contain
nutrients called “oligomeric proanthocyanidins” (also called OPC’s). OPC’s are powerful anti-oxidants that are
capable of getting into the brain, which is unique because many antioxidants
can’t get into the brain. Grape seeds
are also very high in Omega 6 essential fatty acids.
Hazelnuts - These nuts are also called
"Filberts". They are a
complete protein. They are also very
high in vitamin B-6, the vitamin named folic acid, magnesium, and healthy oils.
Hemp Seeds – Hemp seeds are the seeds
from the hemp plant (also called marijuana).
Hemp seeds do not contain the ingredient known as “THC”
(tetra-hydrocannabinol), which is the ingredient that makes people “high” when
they smoke or eat hemp leaves and stems.
Hemp seeds contain some Omega 3 essential fatty acids. They also contain a very high amount of
Omega 6 essential fatty acids.
Hickory Nuts – These nuts are a complete
protein.
Kamut - This is an especially
healthy type of ancient grain that is high in protein. It is similar to durham wheat.
Lentils – Lentils are a complete
protein. Lentils are very high in the
vitamin, folic acid.
Macadamia Nuts - They
are very high in Omega 9 essential fatty acids.
Millet - This is an ancient grain
that is a complete protein. It also is
very high in vitamin B-1, and magnesium.
Oats – Oats are a healthy type of
grain that is very high in biotin (a B vitamin), and protein. "Rolled oats" are simply oats that
have been squished or flattened. Rolled
oats can be made into hot or cold breakfast cereals, by adding water. Rolled oats can also be added to recipes,
like breads or cookies. Whole grain
oats can be soaked, sprouted, boiled, or make into flour.
Peanuts - These are not actually
nuts, but rather members of the legume family (which includes peas and
beans). Peanuts are a complete
protein. They are also very high in
vitamin B-1, vitamin B-3, vitamin B-5, the vitamin named biotin, the vitamin
named choline, the mineral magnesium, and Omega 9 essential fatty acids.
Peas - See the listing for
“Beans”.
Pecans - These nuts are a complete
protein. They are also very high in
vitamin B-1, vitamin B-5, the vitamin known as biotin, magnesium, and healthy
oils.
Perilla Seeds - These
seeds are known for containing a very large amount of Omega 3 essential fatty
acids.
Pignoles - See the listing for
"Pine Nuts".
Pine Nuts - Pine nuts are also known
as "pignoles". These are
seeds from the pine cones of certain types of pine trees. Pine nuts are an excellent source of protein
that is easy for people to digest. They
are also very high in vitamin B-1, and healthy oils.
Pistachios – These nuts are a complete
protein. They are also very high in
vitamin B-1, potassium, and healthy oils.
Pistachios are tan colored. Many
times they are dyed a red color, using an artificial food coloring. I suggest eating only pistachios that have
not been dyed.
Poppy Seeds - I suggest not eating poppy
seeds because they contain toxic opiates.
Pumpkin Seeds - These
seeds are a complete protein. They are
also very high in Omega 6 essential fatty acids. Pumpkin seeds also can be eaten to kill various types of
intestinal parasitic worms (such as tapeworms and roundworms). To do this, a person can eat two cups (half
of a liter) of raw or roasted pumpkin seeds each day, for three weeks. Eating raw pumpkin seeds tends to be very
effective at strengthening women's ovaries and men's prostate glands. Pumpkin seeds are sometimes roasted, but
this destroys all of the valuable enzymes and turns the healthy oils
rancid. So I recommend instead eating
raw pumpkin seeds, if given a choice between the two.
Quinoa - This is an ancient grain
that is a complete protein. It is often
considered to be one of the healthiest grains, because it possibly contains
more protein than any other grain.
Rapeseed - See the listing for
"Canola".
Rice - Brown rice is a complete
protein. White rice is brown rice with
the hull removed. "Wild rice"
is not a type of rice. For information
on wild rice, see the entry for "Wild Rice", listed below.
Rye - This is a healthy grain
that is very high in magnesium and protein.
Few people are allergic to rye.
Sesame Seeds – Sesame seeds are a
complete protein. They are also very
high in both Omega 6 and Omega 9 essential fatty acids. Sesame seeds can be made into a nut butter,
known as "tahini".
Soybeans – Soybean oil contains some
Omega 3 essential fatty acids, and is very high in Omega 6 essential fatty
acids. Contrary to popular belief,
soybeans are one of the worst sources of protein, because the protein contained
in soybeans is incredibly difficult for people to digest. So I highly discourage people to eat
soybeans. However, tofu (which is made
from soybeans) is high in protein, and is pretty easy for the body to
digest. Tofu is made by blending
soybeans with some water, which makes a liquid known as soy milk. Then a certain type of fungus is added to
the soy milk, and the fungus eat the soy milk and reproduces quickly. So tofu is fungus (that ate soy milk), just
as yogurt and cheese are bacteria (that ate cow’s or goat’s milk).
Spelt - This is one of the
healthiest grains I'm aware of. It’s an
ancient grain that is a complete protein.
Spelt contains more of the amino acid, tryptophan, than most other
grains. Spelt is easy for the body to
digest. Very few people are allergic to
spelt.
Sunflower Seeds –
Sunflower seeds are a complete protein!
They are also very high in vitamin E, vitamin B-1, vitamin B-6, and
calcium. Regular sunflower seeds are very
high in Omega 6 essential fatty acids.
High oleic sunflower seeds are very high in Omega 9 essential fatty
acids. Sunflower seeds can be eaten
raw, soaked, or sprouted. They only
take two days to sprout!
Teff - This tiny ancient grain is
said to have been a common food in Ethiopia for thousands of years.
Triticale - This is a
"man-made" (hybrid) grain. It
is a combination of red wheat (Triticum) and rye (Secale). It is higher in protein than either wheat or
rye.
Walnuts - These nuts are a complete
protein. They are also very high in
vitamin B-6, the vitamin named biotin, the vitamin named folic acid, the
mineral magnesium, and healthy oils.
Wheat - This grain is high in
magnesium. Most (if not all varieties
of wheat are "man-made" (hybrid or genetically engineered)
varieties. Many people are allergic to
these "man-made" varieties of wheat.
Nearly every other grain is healthier than most forms of wheat, so I
suggest having other grains whenever possible.
Wheat flour that has had most of its nutrients removed is referred to as
"bleached flour" or "white flour". Bleached or white flour is incredibly
unhealthy, and I suggest avoiding it whenever possible.
Wild Rice - This is a healthy seed
that is a wonderful source of protein, which the body can digest well. It is also very high in vitamin B-2. Despite its name, wild rice is not really a
type of rice.
Various Types of
Animal Foods!
Now, here's a listing of
various types of animal foods (such as meats, poultry, fish, milk, eggs, and
others).
ANIMAL
FOODS
Bacon – Bacon is a type of pig
meat. Pig meat is a type of red
meat. Red meats are very difficult
types of proteins for people's bodies to digest. As a result, I suggest avoiding eating bacon.
Beef - Beef is a type of cattle
meat. Cattle meat is a type of red
meat. Red meats are very difficult
types of proteins for people's bodies to digest. As a result, I suggest avoiding eating beef.
Cheese – Cheese is helpful bacteria
that have grown in milk. When cheese is
being made, first it becomes yogurt, and then it becomes cheese. However, cheese contains no living bacteria.
Chicken – Chicken is a fairly easy
protein for the body to digest. It is
harder to digest than sea foods, but easier to digest than red meats.
Conch – This is a type of snail
that lives in the ocean in warm areas of the world. The protein in this snail is one of the easiest types of protein
for people's bodies to digest. So
boiled conch is one of the healthiest sources of protein.
Duck - Duck is a fairly easy
protein for the body to digest. It is
harder to digest than sea foods, but easier to digest than red meats.
Eggs - The protein in eggs is one
of the easiest types of protein for people's bodies to digest. So poached or boiled eggs are one of the
healthiest sources of protein.
Fish – Fish is one of the easiest
types of protein for people's bodies to digest. So boiled fish is one of the healthiest sources of protein. Fish has a large amount of healthy
oils.
Goose - Goose is a fairly easy
protein for the body to digest. It is
harder to digest than sea foods, but easier to digest than red meats.
Ham – Ham is a type of pig
meat. Pig meat is a type of red
meat. Red meats are very difficult
types of proteins for people's bodies to digest. As a result, I suggest avoiding eating ham.
Kefir – Kefir is a drink that is
similar to yogurt. For more
information, see the "Yogurt" listing, below.
Octopus - The protein in octopus is
one of the easiest types of protein for people's bodies to digest. So boiled octopus is one of the healthiest
sources of protein.
Oysters - The protein in oysters is
one of the easiest types of protein for people's bodies to digest. So boiled oysters are one of the healthiest
sources of protein.
Pork - Pork is a type of pig
meat. Pig meat is a type of red
meat. Red meats are very difficult
types of proteins for people's bodies to digest. As a result, I suggest avoiding eating pork.
Scallops – A scallop is a type of
shellfish, similar to clams. The
protein in scallops is one of the easiest types of protein for people's bodies
to digest. So boiled scallops are one
of the healthiest sources of protein.
Shrimp - The protein in shrimp is
one of the easiest types of protein for people's bodies to digest. So boiled shrimp is one of the healthiest
sources of protein. Shrimp do contain
toxins, known as "puricines".
To destroy the toxin, simply boil the shrimp in water that contains
ginger and garlic. You can also destroy
the toxins by boiling the shrimp in beer.
The alcohol in the beer will evaporate while you boil the shrimp, so the
shrimp will contain no alcohol.
Squid - The protein in squid is
one of the easiest types of protein for people's bodies to digest. So boiled squid is one of the healthiest
sources of protein.
Turkey – Turkey is a fairly easy
protein for the body to digest. It is
harder to digest than sea foods, but easier to digest than red meats.
Yogurt – Yogurt is helpful bacteria
that are growing in milk. Some forms of
yogurt have living bacteria in them.
These are the healthiest types of yogurt to eat. Possibly, some of these living helpful
bacteria will survive going through the person's stomach acid (hydrochloric
acid), and they will go into the intestines healthy enough to live and
reproduce in the person's intestines.
